Every challenge is different.
The system is the same.
Planning operations for control, the whole cost of dewatering, decisions on shift, chemical inventory, a pilot and its model. Every fact here is stated with the utility's agreement.
HRSD · Nansemond Treatment Plant
Nansemond is moving from ammonia-based aeration control to AvN and then PdNA, with new tanks coming online. The controller can hold the ratio only where the plant's position lets it reach.
- Eaos builds
- The directing layer above the automation. A twin maps which trains, swing zones and wasting keep the controller in reach, month by month, as the water warms and cools.
- Eddy does
- Plans the operations through the season, dated and costed. Proposes one move at a time for a person to approve, and measures the position every morning.
- One fact
- Thirty-six positions, each settled forty-five days on the twin. In the autumn forecast the plant as run leaves the controller no reach, and one move gives it all of it.
Metro Water Recovery · Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility
Dewatering is a whole-cost problem. Polymer, ferric, hauling and struvite trade against each other across eight centrifuges in four pairs, and the driest cake on one machine can cost more across the plant.

- Eaos builds
- Agents for cost optimization. Five models of the dewatering complex served against daily plant data, and a planning model that works from last week's labs toward the cost per dry ton.
- Eddy does
- A daily plan for the fleet. Which machines run, the polymer on each, the cost per dry ton and the trade-off, run in shadow and logged against what the plant did.
- One fact
- Five served models against daily plant data.
DC Water · Blue Plains Advanced WWTP
The filtrate treatment facility runs six deammonification reactors behind the belt filter presses. Cameras watch the presses and the foam every minute. When something holds, the shift has to decide fast whether it is the process or the instrument.
With Oregon State University, on the computer vision

- Eaos builds
- Computer vision that scores the polymer dose on the presses and measures the foam. Detectors and a state engine on the filtrate train that open a case when a condition holds, joined to the procedures, the lab and the plant record.
- Eddy does
- Works the case, freezes the evidence, and stops to ask the operator where the data cannot settle it. The shift summary every morning.
- One fact
- The July shift summary from this board is cleared by DC Water.
Clean Water Services · Durham and Rock Creek
Alum, lime, hypochlorite, bisulfite and caustic, across day tanks and bulk storage at two plants, with phosphorus held to a monthly permit. Run short and the permit is at risk. Order early and the tank cannot take the truck.

- Eaos builds
- Days to reserve for every tank, read from the meters. A deliveries calendar. Ordering on the operators' own method and floors.
- Eddy does
- Twice a day, when to order and how much, in whole trucks, with its reasons. Only a person marks it ordered.
- One fact
- Live at both plants.
Watercare · Māngere WWTP
A nitrous-oxide pilot on the aeration zones, with a model behind it, built on the most complete record of any facility here.

- Eaos builds
- The record, recovered from the functional description and the register with the drawing adding the connections, and an emission model by zone.
- Eddy does
- The study and the model runs, against the offgas and the dissolved readings in every zone.
- One fact
- Cross-referencing found defects no single source shows, like analyzers a register calls temperature and a drawing calls dissolved oxygen.
Three more, with Oregon State University and Stantec.
Metropolitan Council · Hastings and Metro Plant

A decade of microscopy across nine plants, in reports that could not be trended. Every report and image lands in one record beside the plant data, so a filament bloom is read against what the plant was doing.
- With
- Oregon State University, on the microscopy and the image analysis.
- One fact
- Ninety-six Hastings workbooks read clean, with 443 labeled micrographs.
Prince William Water · H.L. Mooney AWRF
BNR built from the staff's own questions. The carbon to nitrogen ratio, effluent phosphorus, ferric dosed to the day's load, and the know-how that should stay when people retire.
- With
- Stantec, and WSSC Water alongside.
WSSC Water · Piscataway WRRF
The map came first, built from the plant's own exports in minutes. Next, BNR diagnosis and a daily brief, chosen from a scored list of the staff's own ideas.
